About us

Clear money tools, built with care and kept independent.

Our mission

ClearCalc helps people understand the numbers behind everyday financial decisions. We pair transparent calculators with clear, practical guides so readers can compare possibilities before committing to a mortgage, repayment plan, savings target or move abroad.

Our primary coverage is the United States, with broader budgeting and planning tools for readers in the UK and Europe. A currency selector changes the unit displayed; it does not change a country’s laws or turn an estimate into a local tax calculation.

How our calculators are built

Each tool starts with a defined financial question, a documented formula and explicit assumptions.

We use standard amortization and compound-growth methods, and country-and-year-specific data for tax estimates. User-entered rates, investment returns, expenses and exchange rates are assumptions, not live market quotes.

How we check the numbers

Formulas follow standard amortization and compound-growth methods and public IRS and SSA figures.

Each tool shows a worked example so readers can check the math.

The sources behind each tool are listed on our Methodology & sources page.

Estimates may differ from figures produced by lenders, payroll systems or tax returns.

ClearCalc Editorial Team

ClearCalc Editorial Team publishes the calculators and guides on this site. If you spot an error, email info.ClearCalc@gmail.com and we will review it.

Independent and private by design

Calculator inputs and saved scenarios are handled in your browser. No account is required. Links that contain input values should be treated as sensitive: anyone you share them with can read those values, and opening a query-string link can expose them in hosting logs.

Advertising is intended to support free access, but it does not buy editorial rankings or change a formula.
